Here’s one way to do it on Windows using the Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner and its included business card scanning application, CardMinder.IMPORTANT: This Range/Series overview section describes the range of which this product belongs. I find it faster to start up CardMinder first. Then when you scan business cards, they’ll go right in. No need to mess around with Quick Menu or ScanSnap Manager Profiles, though you can use both of those methods as well. With CardMinder started, put your cards in the scanner and hit the scan button. Next you want to set it so that CardMinder exports to Outlook. Find the Application button in the toolbar and click on the little triangle at the bottom. Highlight the contacts in the bottom left of the screen that you want to export. You can hit Ctrl-A to select them all, or use the Control and/or Shift keys to just select the ones you want. When you’re ready, hit the Application button on the toolbar, which should now show a little OL for Outlook. Hit OK at the message that pops up, and you should be good to go. Flip over to Outlook and your contacts should now appear. You don’t have a huge amount of control over mappings, but you can control what gets exported.
In CardMinder, hit the application button in the top left of the window and hit Options. In the Application section, choose Microsoft Outlook and then Settings…. You can then choose which fields get exported to Outlook.
